Beyond Elegy (Orchestra version, 6’ 30”) 2006

Non-printable Score

Program Note:

I was reading the Matthew, Mark, Luke and John from the Bible and thinking about Jesus’ death, “Why did He have to be killed?” With overwhelming sadness, I began to write an elegy for him as many composers compose elegies for their friends or someone whom they respect. While composing, I realized that elegy has only sad meaning and feeling, but His death was not just sad. Sadly was he forsaken, but graciously was I forgiven.
